1950 - 2025: Future-proof training

141 young people are currently completing their training at BUTTING in Knesebeck. They can choose from eleven training occupations and five study programmes.

The history of training at BUTTING began 75 years ago. On 1 April 1950, the first apprentice started his training in the coppersmith trade. A secure job, even after the apprenticeship, and the opportunity for continuous further development are still part of the prospects for all apprentices today. Awards as a future employer or as an IHK top training company are a seal of approval for the BUTTING quality in training.

A particular highlight was the world championship title in welding in 2024 for a plant mechanic who completed his training and preparation for the championship at BUTTING in Knesebeck. In general, BUTTING is a regular guest in the top places at "Jugend schweißt". The company has also received numerous awards at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce's best honours.

"It makes me happy every time I hear about the great achievements of our future talents," beams Hermann Butting. "The junior employees of today are the future of our company. Only together with them can we develop BUTTING sustainably. That's why we have been investing in the training of our own specialists and managers for 75 years."

A colourful bouquet of advantages and benefits during training have made BUTTING a popular training company in the region. Year after year, the start of the apprenticeship is already inspiring with an informative induction week, an iPad for digital learning and much more. Numerous other highlights await you during your training: Events, trainee trips, bonuses for special successes and much more. "Our trainees are supported by a large team of experienced, committed experts. They are supported by contact persons from all areas of the company. This allows our experts of tomorrow to gain valuable experience and learn what they need for a successful future," says Dr Claudia Rohde, Head of Training & Talent Management at BUTTING in Knesebeck, explaining the strengths of the training programme.
