In 1991, the first affiliated company of the BUTTING Group was founded in Schwedt an der Oder, Brandenburg (Germany): Butting Anlagenbau GmbH & Co KG. In the early years, this company was mainly active as a stainless steel pipe service and maintenance provider for the local paper industry. Today, BUTTING employs more than 370 people in Schwedt for the manufacture of vessels and for international assembly work.

In October 2023, the BUTTING Group was expanded through the integration of AMU Schwedt GmbH, directly opposite the BUTTING Anlagenbau site.
