Packaging with added value

Optimum packaging is the basis for the safe transport of our products - whether by land, water, air or sea. At BUTTING, we use secure standard packaging according to the relevant requirements or develop new packaging methods to minimise damage during transport.

BUTTING packaging offers effective added value over and above its protective function:

  • They simplify logistical processes for your projects thanks to short loading and unloading times
  • They reduce the time and cost involved in securing loads
  • They enable on-site storage without additional equipment
  • They ensure the problem-free relocation of unit loads

Customised transport solutions

Wide range of shipping options

The BUTTING Group has been your reliable supplier of customised stainless steel products for years - even in impressive dimensions. But no matter how high, how heavy, how long, how wide: we will find the right transport solution for you and your project.

Road and road haulage

We offer you a wide range of options when it comes to road freight transport. We are familiar with all types of transport, from parcel services to oversized / heavy goods transport. When selecting service providers, we pay attention to both quality and low-emission transport.

Rail transport

In order to come closer to our environmental goals, we have already shifted the majority of our transport operations to rail. In accordance with the EN 16258:2012 standard, we compared the environmental impact of transport by lorry and train and demonstrated that we were able to reduce CO2 emissions by almost half with the rail solution.

Inland navigation

For a PVC manufacturer in France, a 54-tonne container produced by BUTTING with a diameter of almost 7 metres and a length of 26 metres had to be transported to its destination. At BUTTING, we have developed an intelligent link between road and inland waterway transport, thus ensuring economic and ecological advantages.

Maritime shipping

In order to be able to transport containers measuring 11.30 x 6.33 x 5.80 metres (L x W x H) from Schwedt to a construction site in Poland by barge on the Oder despite low water, we artificially created a wave and used it to navigate the critical low water area. This was a particularly challenging logistical operation that was crowned with success in every respect.

Air freight

From the Knesebeck site, clad pipes with an internal diameter of 2,400 mm had to be transported almost 10,000 kilometres to Durban in South Africa. The solution: the Antonov, one of the largest cargo aeroplanes in the world. This was also a special project for BUTTING, which was accompanied by a film team to record the loading and transport of the pipes.

IPPC Standard ISPM 15

We think sustainably

Reducing CO2 emissions is a fundamental part of our corporate culture. In view of increasingly scarce resources and the protection of the environment, we are not only constantly and sustainably optimising all areas of production, but also and in particular the packaging, transport and shipping of our products. The success of our measures proves us right! In line with our consistent commitment to sustainability, the use of materials that comply with the IPPC standard ISPM 15 is of great importance in the production of our wooden packaging in order to reduce the risk of harmful organisms spreading in international trade. We also maximise the recyclability of our packaging.
